Ligue 1 France

Ligue 1 was started on 11 September 1932 under the name National before switching to Division 1 after a year of existence. The name lasted until 2002 before it switched to its current name.

It is Goverened by UEFA and consists of 20 Clubs much like the premier league, with St Etienne perhaps being the most famously known

St Etienne have won the most titles, while Olympique Lyonnais have won the most consecutive titles, which at time of writing is 7

Though it could be argued, that Paris St Germain, are running them close for fame, though that has been done through the acquisition of players due to their Arab Owners, Neymar is perhaps the best know PSG player at time of writing
