Who Is New Nottingham Forest Manager Sabri Lamouchi

With Martin O’Neill being sacked as Manager of Nottingham Forest today and his replacement being swiftly confirmed as being Sabri  Lamouchi, the question on most Forest Supporters lips was

“Who is Sabri Lamouchi”

So lets look a bit closer  at who he is

He is a former French Footballer, who is of Tunisian decsent and played in Midfield during his playing career, which started in 1990, with Ales in France, before spells at Auxerre and  Monaco also in France

At the end of the 2000 season, he moved to Parma in Italy, where he stayed for 3 years, followed by two year spells at  internazionale and Genoa on loan, before he returned to France in 2005, with Marseille, with who he stayed a season, before a move to Al Rayyan in the Quatar Stars League.

He stayed with them for 1 year, before moving on to the oddly named Umm Salal for another year, before a final move to Al Kharitiyath. At the end of his spell with them, he retired from playing to move into team management

In 2012, he was appointed the head coach of the Ivory Coast, at the time ranked 23rd the highest ranked team in Africa and under his guidance they qualified for the 2014 Fifa World Cup. They won their first match 2-1, but lost their next two matches, culiminating in their elimination from the competition

His team featured stars such as Yaya Toure and Wifred Bony, both of who have graced the Premier League

In 2017, he was appointed as coach of French Club Rennes
